Mon Dieu! Moncler!

The fabulously chic puffy jackets perfect for harsh winters have a long history of utility and function behind them.

Moncler launched just around the time of the Second World War in France, when three young gentlemen – Rene Ramillom, Andre Vincent and Lionel Terray came together to launch a sportswear company that would outfit those looking to partake in outdoor activities, such as hiking, skiing and camping.

Lionel Terray, one of the original founders of the company, was one of the first Frenchman to climb Mount Everest, and became a world-renowned mountaineer.  Throughout this and future expeditions, he tested Moncler products, which had now grown to include sporting equipment such as tents and sleeping bags, as well as a new duck down-filled jacket.

It was no surprise, then, that after such rigorous testing, Moncler became the official sponsor of the French national ski team in the 1968 Grenoble Olympic Winter Games.

It is this storied history that gives such technical credibility to the fashion brand Moncler.  After collaborating with such celebrities and designers such as Pharell Williams and Thom Browne Moncler is a true testament to both form and function, and the synergy created between fashion and utility.
