A Band of Outsiders
Ohio-born Scott Sternberg began his career as an agent at famed Los Angeles talent agency CAA, but the Ari Gold lifestyle wasn’t for him.
In 2004, Sternberg launched a collection of button-down shirts and narrow ties, and has steadily expanded his offerings to create a full men’s line. In 2009, Sternberg was named menswear designer of the year by CFDA, and has quite the celebrity following for his style of French New Wave meets classic Americana. From Beck to Jason Schwartzman to Kanye West, the hippest of the LA crowd has been seen wearing Band of Outsiders, many of which can be seen in his blog.
An interesting new series on the Band of Outsiders’ site is a photographic essay on homes in Los Angeles. The vintage appeal of these images reflects the unique artistic spin this brand offers, and its cheeky take on modern life.
