J. Mendel Fall 2010

Ryan McGinley’s powerful and vibrant images of nature in his Moonmilk series were the inspiration for J. Mendel’s Fall 2010 collection.
The colors and textured of these photos provided the groundwork for a collection rich in textured metallic tweeds, dyed silver fox vests, molten red satin face silk mousseline and contoured jacquard.
These elements of nature give an immediate sense of organic luxury, where even the “the inside of these garment is as luxurious as the outside.”
Such attention paid to the interdependence of nature and art can only produce the most magnificent results, as they did here in this season’s newest looks. Our ties to the earth and all its glorious beauty is not forgotten by Mendel, and instead, utilized in such a way to create a magnificent blend of fashion and luxury.
