Fall 2010 Trends
Summer’s only just begun, but cool weather will be here before you know it. Here is a look at our favorite Fall/Winter 2010 trends:
Boys Club: Borrowing from the boys has never gone out of style, but this season the look has a more collegiate feel. Try pairing fitted vests with button down shirts for an updated twist. Rag & Bone and Boy have some of the most covetable pieces for fall.
Lots of Layers: A bohemian spirit remains strong for fall, and the chicest way to incorporate this trend is with an elegant layer or two. Try adding leggings, cardigans, gloves or vests for an easy way to layer an ensemble. You’re sure to find your favorite layer from Missoni, Moncler and Kaufman Franco this season.
Plenty of Patchwork: Bohemian influences maintain their hold, particularly with patchwork. For those who shy away from haute hippie looks, even edgy designers got in on the action. Our favorite patchwork looks came strutting down the runway at Rick Owens for fall.
Asian Influence: From Mandarin collars to lacquered red embellishments and silk linings to Mongolian tapestries and Kimono styles, Asian influences ruled the runways. One of our favorite collections this season, Chanel, even featured their Pre-Fall show in Shanghai to nail the theme home.
Bright Lights: The dark colors of seasons past still reign supreme, but for fall, bright colors such as cobalt blue, fiery red, and emerald green add a powerful punch. Versace and Kaufman Franco offered intense hues you’ll go gaga for.
Fierce Faux: Never has faux fur been as ubiquitous on the runways as it has this season. With better technologies and techniques that continue to make faux fur look even better than the real thing, we know you’ll love the faux fur styles we hand-selected for you from Giambattista Valli, Chanel and Missoni.
Power Play: The boardroom is back! Menswear influences were spotted all over the runways this season, from trouser styles to authoritative suits in corporate friendly shades of camel and gray. Pringle offered our favorite styles for fall.
