Born in Romania, Sarbu discovered her passion for fashion design at a young age, creating wardrobes for her dolls out of her mother’s clothing. Opportunities to develop this passion in Romania, however, were limited.

She made the decision to move to the United States where she hoped to pursue a career in design, and attended the International Academy of Design & Technology in Chicago. She soon moved to Los Angeles with her husband and continued her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

In 2009, Sarbu launched her collection of elegant eveningwear, and saw an immediate reaction from both the fashion industry and customers. She soon found her gowns hanging on the racks of the most prestigious and exclusive retailers in the US, and quickly developed a celebrity following.
