For Enrique Loewe Roessberg, the culture of Spain was all it took for him to fall in love with a nation. Originally from Germany, Roessberg partnered with leather artisans from Madrid to launch Loewe in 1846 as a leather goods company.

Half a century later, during the reign of Alfonso XIII, Loewe was appointed the Purveyor to the Royal Household. The first decade of the 20^th century saw Loewe emerge as the foremost Spanish luxury brand and a leading leather specialist.
