Winter’s Wool

Aug 17, 2010

Woolrich Woolen Mills, the American-made heritage label, has a new twist in the hands of Mark McNairy, who previously designed for Ivy League clothier J. Press, Bass Weejuns and Pro Keds.

Woolrich Woolen Mills dates back to the early 1800’s, when John Rich constructed his first woolen mill in Plum Run, Pennsylvania.  Though the days between today’s wool coats and plaid shirts and the time when loggers’ wives crafted garments out of thick woolen fabrics may seem like light years apart, the craftsmanship and technique remain the same.

With McNairy at the helm, Woolrich Woolen Mills takes American classics and updates them with just the right touch.  A hefty winter coat will keep you uber-warm and cozy yet savvy enough for meetings in the city or a night out on the town.
